Sydney Road History Walks are back! The next set of walks will highlight the textile and fashion industries in Brunswick from huge hosiery mills to bespoke dressmakers and the bridal precinct. They will be held on 27 July and 3 and 10 August.

Phillipstown was the name of a small area of Brunswick near Union Street and Grantham Street from about 1840-1860. This area as rich in clay deposits and several claypits, brickworks and potteries were established here. Shops, houses and pubs were built to cater for the workers. Until the 1860s there was open land between here and the main Brunswick settlement. The walk looks at some of the historic sites in this interesting area.

Book Now for Upfield Railway Line walks!
We are running walks along the Upfield Line from Park St to Anstey Station on 10 and 17 February at 11.00. This is a chance to see the heritage features of the line and hear about its history before it is changed by the elevated rail construction. The cost of $15 includes a booklet and a cup of coffee at the end.
