Whelan the Wrecker – the Brunswick firm which changed Melbourne

Robyn Annear – Author of A City lost and found;  Whelan the Wrecker’s Melbourne  and a very entertaining speaker will talk about this iconic Brunswick firm.  Whelan’s destroyed much of Melbourne in the 1950s-70s.  They did rescue a lot of heritage elements from the buildings they demolished which they made available to builders and renovators from their yard in Sydney Rd.

Robyn Annear is a well-known author and very entertaining speaker. Her visit to Brunswick has been organised by her personal assistant, Mrs. Bradley. The event is held in partnership with Brunswick Library.
